Blue Bird Bistro, Kansas City

Blue Bird Bistro in Kansas City, in the Westport area, was one of my favorite restaurants. The ambiance is unbeatable . . . like something out of an old movie . . . especially in the summer time with the fan built in to one of the outside walls and the door at the corner of the dining room. This is a great place for a wonderful, healthy meal.
I had the Blue Bird Salad with Chicken added to it and it was phenomenal. It tasted fresh and delicious. I went there last summer when I was in town for a work conference and can't wait to go back. This restaurant is totally unique. Great service, too (though I wouldn't rate any restaurant well without great service).
I can't remember what wine I had . . . I know it was red, and I want to say it was the Altos de la Hoya, but I'm not sure . . . anyways, it was fantastic.
I tried a cookie for dessert, but it wasn't that good. Dry and crumbly. I should have gone with one of their other desserts.
